Faculty Careers Day: California Community College and State University Systems
Faculty from California Community Colleges and California State Universities will share their experiences and advice about faculty careers in their respective systems of higher education. The morning session (10am-12pm) will focus on California Community College faculty, while the afternoon session (1pm-3pm) will feature faculty speakers from California State Universities. CCC and CSU faculty members were invited from a range of disciplines and institutions. All graduate students and postdoctoral researchers are welcome to attend and ask questions about landing and launching their faculty careers.
Faculty Careers Day is a virtual conference that highlights academic career pathways at primarily teaching institutions. Faculty from California Community Colleges and California State Universities will share their experiences and advice about faculty careers at these institutions. This event is primarily geared for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

How to Write A Teaching Statement for A Teaching-Focused School

NSF-AGEP CA-HSI Alliance's Postdoctoral Panel
AGEP fellows will participate in a postdoctoral panel discussion in which they will gain knowledge regarding finding postdoc opportunities, protocol/etiquette in identifying postdoctoral opportunities or initiating contacts, expectations of your postdoctoral position, etc.
Panelists will have the opportunity to discuss their experiences and why they believe postdoctoral opportunities are important and provide insight on approaching a postdoctoral position.

Self-Care, Coping Strategies and Wellness During COVID19
AGEP Fellows, CSU mentors, and AGEP leadership attended a self-care workshop led by Dr. Christy Teranishi-Martinez.
Strength Building:
Ways of building on strengths within yourself to help build resiliency during these challenging times.
Exercises:
Provide exercises, focusing on mindfulness, present-moment awareness self-compassion and loving kindness to help fellows cope with the stress, anxiety and challenges we are confronted with.
Positive Change:
Positive Change - helping each of us to think of ways of promoting positive change in within ourselves, families, and the communities in which we live.

During this workshop, led by Dr. Ray Rodriguez, AGEP fellows were provided with valuable knowledge in how to navigate the academic interview process. Content covered in the workshop includes the following:
